The Sony Ericsson C901, also known as the Filippa is a new Cyber-Shot cell phone that Sony plans to release this year. The cell phone features a 5 mega pixel camera and joins the ranks of other Sony Cyber-Shot cell phones. Many are considering this cell phone a less intricate version of the Sony Ericsson C902, which is well-liked but somewhat expensive.
Features of the Sony Ericsson C901
The camera that comes onboard the Sony Ericsson C901 has many features and is considered to be on the higher end in the cell phone world. It has Xenon flash functionality for getting rid of dark backgrounds, and also comes equipped with auto focus to help atomically focus for those hard to take shots. Another neat tool is its face and Smile detection functionality which make it much easier to get a good shot of friends and loved ones. A handy aspect that has been included in this and other models is picture editing software that makes it possible to edit photos directly on the phone right after you take them. This can be a real time saver as it means users don’t have to download pictures to their desktop computers to edit them. Pictures can be made ready to go and uploaded to blogs or sites.
The Sony Ericsson C901 has a satellite GPS system that allows for geotagging. This allows users to mark locations where they are or photos have been taken. The phone comes equipped to handle Google Maps which is a free application to help you get where you need to be.
This model also features an FM radio for the user’s listening pleasure. It comes with Bluetooth communications software as well. Email and instant messaging capabilities are nicely integrated for those who are on the go. There is also a blogging application that can be utilized to update your blog or site. A couple other neat features of the phone are the motion controlled games that can be played and also the You Tube application.
The phone boasts a 9.5 hour talk time with the battery and 430 hours of standby time.
Appearance of the Sony Ericsson C901
The cell phone has a sleek design and will be available in three different colors: black, sincere silver and precious peach. The display screen on the phone is 2.2 inches and is made of scratch-resistant material. The screen also serves as an appropriate sized view finder for when the camera is in use. All of the function buttons and the keypad are located together on one side of the phone for easy access.
The dimensions of the phone are 4.1 x 1.8 x 0.5 inches with a 13mm thickness. Weighing in at 107 g. it is a lightweight model that is convenient for people who don’t want a big camera phone to carry around.

Textual input on a traditional cell phone can be really annoying. Since most cell phones do not have their own keyboards, letters must be represented on a shared set of keys. For example, if you wanted to type the letter “C,” you would have to press the “1″ button three times. This is in contrast to being able to press just one key once.
Now, some companies try to circumvent this problem by providing portable keyboards. However, for someone that is always on the go, portable keyboards are just another thing they have to keep up with. That’s why for many people, a better option would entail getting a cell phone that already has a keyboard implemented in its design.
Well, enter the Samsung Glyde Cell Phone. Created for Verizon Wireless, the Samsung Glyde Cell Phone features both a touch screen and a full Qwerty keyboard. To access the keyboard, all you have to do is slide it out from the bottom of the phone. From there, text can be entered in one key at a time.
So, as you can see, with the Samsung Glyde you are getting the convenience of a cell phone and a computer right in the palm of your hand. Best of all, you won’t have to pay a crazy amount of money… assuming you get the right setup.
What does this mean? Well, currently, Verizon Wireless is offering the Samsung Glyde for only $199. However, to qualify for this price, you must do two things: 1) buy the phone from Verizon’s website and 2) sign up for Verizon Wireless. If you buy the service and the phone from a different site or in person, you will have to pay $249.
Now, if you decide to buy the phone separately, you can expect to pay as much as $499. So, if you don’t have that kind of cash on hand, you should probably go ahead and take the Verizon Wireless deal. You’ll have to sign a 2-year contract, but you’ll be saving $300 in the process. And for most people, $300 is certainly nothing to sneeze at.

The Nokia E75 is a GSM/WCDMA dual-mode business smartphone supporting WCDMA/HSDPA, EGSM, and WLAN. The device features a side slider qwerty keyboard for optimal email experience. Enjoy videos, music, and graphics on the 2.4″ QVGA display and orientation sensor. Find directions and locations with the integrated A-GPS and included maps. Take photos with a 3.2-megapixel autofocus camera. Additional features include USB charging with simultaneous data transfer, Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR, and USB 2.0 High-Speed. Supported WCDMA frequencies depend on the region where the device is available.
Outwardly, you might not notice anything spectacular about the phone with an alphanumeric keypad. Under this is the special QWERTY keyboard that you can slide out. When you open it, the screen shifts to landscape mode. So it does not matter whether you prefer to type in a computer-type keyboard or like the traditional mobile phone, you can text your message however you want.
When you consider that Nokia E75 uses a QWERTY keyboard, it actually looks slim. At 14.4 mm, this phone is really a great achievement. Wondering how? Well, just think of N95 8GB, which is actually 7 mm thicker, or E66 whose size it matches, then you will get a better perspective. The new Nokia phone is not too heavy at 139g. The TFT QVGA 2.4″ screen is very similar to all recent Nokia phones and provides 16 million colors.
Nokia E75 is a business handset and is expected to give a lot of importance to connectivity. Nokia does exactly that- provide you great connectivity. Firstly, Nokia gives many options in terms of how you will achieve connectivity. This includes variety in network connectivity and choice in connecting the phone to other gadgets. The handset also gives Class 32 GPRS as well as EDGE support thus it is attuned to the High-Speed Circuit Switching data technology. A phone of this great caliber has to have WiFi, right? And it does. It gives WiFi 802.11 and compatibility with Universal Plug n Play (UPnP) technology.
UPnP is created such that easy and simple integration of different kinds of gadgets is made possible. It permits the integration of different wireless networks like communication, data sharing and entertainment. The Nokia E75 includes a port for micro USB that can make file transferability and PC connectivity possible. It also offers Bluetooth 2.0.

Featured HSDPA, Bluetooth, DLNA-certified Wi-Fi, an accelerometer (motion sensor), microSD memory card slot, USB 2.0 connectivity and A-GPS are some of the more commonly seen features in most high- end phones. The new launch from Ericsson, the Sony Idou has them all. It comes with a 3.5″ touchscreen display with a commendable 360×640 pixel of resolution. New User Interface: The market is abuzz with the news of the new UI with which Sony will be breaking from the old mould. The new UI is something that Sony has not experimented with before and it will make Sony Ericsson Idou stand out amongst all its mobile phones. Apart from the Windows Mobile-powered Xperia X1, Sony has always used the same UI. The smoothness of the touch interface on the 640×360 3.5-inch screen grabs attention immediately. The ability to rapidly move from application to application without any noticeable lag is sure to become popular. S60 that this phone features is different from others like Nokia’s S60 UI or Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. The very ideas behind this phone and the innovations tried out make this model highly impressive. With the Sony Ericsson Idou, the users get to set various panels at the top of the home screen. They just have to swipe left and right to take pictures and see contacts. The users can also customize the contacts to let them view the favorite contacts quickly. This feature is very useful as generally phone users call or send SMS to only a few people regularly. Another exciting thing about the UI is that the home screen will keep a part of the media player open so the user has the option of listening to music or opening videos while picking the phone up. The UI might not be customizable but the final version of this handset will have many more features. This version is due to come out some time later in the year. Further Expansion: Sony Ericsson Idou uses an M2 Memory card. This memory card comes with the opportunity of expansion. Other latest additions that you will get in this Sony Ericsson set are: the PlayNow Arena and the MediaGo software. This make the phone a real treat for the music lovers. The S740, and its U.S. 3G equipped S743 variant, is a compact smartphone that features not only a functional 12-key alphanumeric keypad, but also a spacious, 4-row QWERTY keyboard that slides out sideways from behind the phone’s bright and crisp QVGA resolution display. The QWERTY keyboard’s keys don’t offer the best tactile feedback available on the market, but they are nicely shaped and nearly perfectly laid out.
The slider action of the keyboard is nicely sprung, and the entire device feels very solid. I am particularly fond of the d-pad, which has a raised outer edge that makes it easy to use in any number of ways. The rear cover of the S740 features the same oddball faceted surface as HTC’s Touch Diamond, but at least this time around it is covered in a nice rubbery soft touch paint that hides fingerprints to a large extent.
The S740 we tested out was built for the European market, and as such features 900/2100MHz 3G/HSDPA support instead of the 850/1900MHz 3G support that will be found on the U.S. bound S743. Both versions feature quad-band GSM/EDGE support, though I have to admit that the S740 was only an average performer on the North American half of those frequency bands. The S743 may fare better, being tweaked for this particular part of the world. In any event, both smartphones can be easily hooked up to WiFi networks, and both support a full range of Bluetooth connectivity.
